Our Hors d’âge is a blend aged around 12 years in oak casks. Colour: Clear coppered
Palate: A Bas Armagnac with a soft, very pleasant attack. An eau-de-vie with pleasant aromas of ripe prunes and spices.

Our vintages remain Armagnacs 100% Folle Blanche. They are proposed at the natural degree of ageing.process. Here are below some tastings notes in the book of F. L’Esprit de l’Armagnac:

Bas Armagnac Château de Maniban "Folle Blanche" 1990 - 55° - AOC Bas Armagnac. (still in casks)

Amber brandy, with green reflections , coppered, brilliant and clear. The nose, of beautiful elegance, remain on vanilla flavoring due to the stay in cask, with a small touch of burnt wood. The attack in mouth is frank with a beautiful balance; the alcohol feeling is still powerful and the tanins of beautiful quality bring a touch of liquorice; the final is very peppered, with flavors of dried brackens and roasted wood. To be drunk with a coffee not too rich of the type "blue mountain" or with almond macaroon.

Bas Armagnac Château de Maniban "Folle Blanche" 1989 - 55° - AOC Bas Armagnac. (still in casks)

Topaz brandy with beautiful green, brilliant reflections and clear. The nose is already very floral, with a touch of cooked and spicy pear. The attack in mouth is frank and well balanced; the alcohol feeling remains rich and warm but becomes blurred quickly; the tanins are a little bit marked and leave places to peppered and very chocolate-flavored aromas; the final get touches of undergrowth (foams and bracken); brandy in ageing process. Go very well with spiced prunes.

Bas Armagnac Château de Maniban "Folle Blanche" 1983 - 53° - AOC Bas Armagnac. (still in cask)

Clear amber brandy, with green reflections of beautiful depth, brilliant and crystal-clear. The nose begins with aromas of prunes, with this very light rancio that leaves to presage a beautiful brandy. The attack in mouth is frank and well balanced; the tanins are rich and well marked , they give softness to brandy; the alcohol feeling is round and fat, that brings a lot of volume to brandy; the final touch contains “zan” taste with the buttered touches of the rancio, a light bitterness highlights the taste of this armagnac. Remains perfect with a vanilla pie at the end of the lunch.
